Gold swings after declining the most in three weeks

London, Jul 25. Gold today swung between gains and losses after the biggest drop in almost three weeks as investors weighed the prospects for reduced US stimulus. Gold fell 0.2 per cent to USD 1,319.80 an ounce, after rising 0.2 per cent and falling 0.5 per cent. Prices slid 1.7 per cent yesterday, the most since July 5. Silver fell 0.5 per cent to USD 20.07 an ounce. Gold slumped 21 per cent this year, set to end a 12-year bull run, as the dollar index rose 4.5 per cent amid speculation the US Federal Reserve may taper its bond-buying programme as early as this year. Holdings in the SPDR Gold Trust, the biggest exchange-traded product backed by the metal, were unchanged at 929.76 tonnes, ending a six-day drop
